Tuire Tamminen graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Helsinki, Finland. She is a national specialist in small animal medicine, a diplomat of ECAR, and obtained a PhD in canine dystocia (oxytocin receptors, cardiotocography). She taught undergraduate veterinary students on small animal reproduction for 10 years during her position at the University of Helsinki. In addition, she has worked as a municipal veterinarian and in private clinics. She has also lectured on small animal reproduction to veterinarians and dog breeders, and supervised residents of ECAR and licentiate theses of undergraduate students.
She has been an EVSSAR member since 2006 and an EVSSAR Board member during 2017-2023 (Treasurer 2019-2023).
Currently, she is the head of the Reproduction Clinic and Department of Surgery and Dentistry in 24/7 Animal Hospital Veter, Tampere, Finland.
Her main interests are normal and high-risk pregnancy and parturition, urogenital diseases, diagnostic imaging in reproduction, semen preservation, and soft tissue surgery.
