Dr Blanchard focuses her research on the effects of xenobiotics on reproductive tissue. This research was initiated during her doctorate at The University of Nottingham and investigated the dog as a potential sentinel model for human exposure to xenobiotics. Following a short post-doctoral appointment at The Royal Veterinary College, looking at the drivers behind early onset menopause in women, Rebecca obtained a lectureship where she was able to set up her own research programme, this time investigating if the horse is exposed to xenobiotics. This research has expanded her interest in environmental contamination across a variety of species.
